內(nèi)皮抑素已被鑒定為18型膠原蛋白的C末端片段，膠原蛋白是最近發(fā)現(xiàn)的膠原蛋白樣蛋白家族的成員，稱為多重毒素家族。它特異性地抑制內(nèi)皮細(xì)胞的增殖，盡管它不影響EOMA細(xì)胞的增殖。內(nèi)皮抑素還有效抑制血管生成和腫瘤生長(zhǎng)，并在內(nèi)皮細(xì)胞粘附和細(xì)胞骨架組織中起重要作用。內(nèi)皮抑素位于血管壁（彈性纖維）和基底膜。重組內(nèi)緞素來(lái)源于十八型膠原蛋白的C末端部分。重組內(nèi)皮抑素引起HUVEC和HMVE細(xì)胞的凋亡。

Endostatin has been identified as a C-terminal fragment of Collagen type 18, a recently identified member of a family of collagen-like proteins referred to as multiplexin family. It specifically inhibits proliferation of endothelial cells although it does not affect the proliferation of EOMA cells. Endostatin also potently inhibits angiogenesis and tumor growth and has an important role in endothelial cell adhesion and cytoskeletal organization. Endostatin localizes to vessel walls (elastic fibers) and basement membranes. Recombinant Endosatin is derived from C-terminal portion of type XVIII collagen. Recombinant Endostatin causes apoptosis of HUVEC and HMVE cells.
